What I want to do…
Since finishing up at camp I’ve had quite a bit of time to think about life. I suppose it helps that my first internship fell through so I can’t get started with that or start up with a part time job since I may have to move. Anyway I’ve been thinking about what I want to do, and suprisingly enough some of it is the opposite of what I wanted 4 months ago.
What I want to do:
- Learn Arabic. Whether it is on my own or at DLI it doesn’t matter anymore.
- Get in Shape. I’m tired of struggling to pass the APFT, I’m tired of being out of shape.
- Become a Lifeguard. I don’t know exactly why, but I want to. Maybe its the tan.
- Revitalize Missing Arrow Publishing. I want to get back into my computer programming hobby.
- Get Organized. My room is a mess, so my life is a mess.
- Travel. I want to see the world, see the country, see the state.
- Read More. I need to learn more and stay away from the television.
- Stay connected with my extended family. There is one person in particular I need to strengthen my relationship with but I have been neglecting all of them.
Fatblogging? How about Lean & In Shape Blogging
Folks around the blogosphere have taken Jason Calacanis’ lead and have started posting about their struggle to lose weight. The movement is call fatblogging.
I want to get involved since I need to lose some weight and get in shape but I like to focus on the goal or final outcome. So instead of calling it “Fatblogging” I am going to call it “Lean & In Shape Blogging.” Sorry Jason. I’ll follow the same rules as you set forth for fatblogging.
My goal is to get in shape. What does that entail? I’m not really sure. I know I need to lose weight and build strength. Since I am still in the National Guard, I’m shooting towards the military standard (without getting taped) which is 205 for my height. That means I have to lose about 30 pounds. Yeah its that bad…
I also want to increase my APFT score, which is probably horrible and not even high enough to pass the APFT right now. Basically that involves Pushups, Situps, and a 2 mile run. Since I am going to be focusing on overall strength my gains with pushups and situps will be slower then if I just focused solely on them.
In order to help me stay focused I will be posting updates here, I’m shooting for every night, on my blog under the category “Lean & In Shape.” Each post will include my current weight, what workout I did that day, and may include my diet activities also. I’m still putting together my “plan” but I will post that soon.
