Lent Update
yeah, so Lent isn’t going very well for me.
I’ve already drank Alcohol and I accidentally ate some fried food today.
Maybe next year…
eBay Scare
I recently bidded on an eBay auction for a Kohl’s Gift Card in the mid $XXX. I ended up winning the auction for $100 less then the value of the card. A great deal as I need to replenish my wardrobe and I can get an extra 10-15% off by using my Kohl’s Charge Card. A card that I got to increase my credit rating.
I paid the seller with paypal and was just waiting for my Gift Cards to arrive. When I got the below email from eBay:
Unfortunately, eBay has removed this listing. All bids or offers on this listing have been canceled. Because the listing was ended, you no longer have any obligation to purchase this item.
Listings are removed for different reasons. For example:
- The way the item was listed may violate eBay policy.
- The sale of the item may be prohibited by eBay.
- The sale of the item may be prohibited by law.
- The removal may be part of a separate action taken by eBay that is unrelated to the listing itself. We hope you understand that, due to privacy concerns, we’re unable to discuss the details of why this listing was ended. However, please note that the removal of this listing should not suggest that this seller’s standing in the eBay Community has been called into question.
Excuse Me! I already won and paid for the auction! I figured I just got screwed out of my money as eBay canceled the auction so I can’t exactly contact the seller. How am I going to prove to PayPal that I actually had an agreement to buy the gift cards if they couldn’t see the auction. This was all I thought about yesterday and I wasn’t too happy with eBay.
Luckily though my story has a happy ending. The gift cards arrived today and they were for the correct value. When all is said and done the only loss is I can’t leave the seller feedback. I still can’t believe eBay canceled an auction where the buyer already paid for the item.
First Day of Lent
Well today is the first day of Lent. In the past I have never really done much other than attend church on Wednesday nights. This year I am going to try and do more reflection, prayer, and will also be giving up alcohol and fried foods for the 40 days.
Sun Prairie Today
When I lived in Sun Prairie I was always getting extremely pissed at The Star, the local weekly newspaper. It had gone down hill and needed some competition. My hopes were raised when Madison Newspapers added a weekly insert titled Sun Prairie News to the Wisconsin State Journals they delivered to Sun Prairie. The Sun Prairie News didn’t last long and I was back to being disapointed.
I started thinking that Sun Prairie needed a decent Community Website, as that could provide me with the information I needed and give The Star, which didn’t have a website at the time, some competition. It didn’t happen while I lived there but my concerns have been answered.
Sun Prairie Today is a fairly new website dedicated to giving the fine folks of Sun Prairie daily news and community information. After checking it out I must say that I am impressed and I wish the publishers the best of luck. As of right now The Star’s online offering is nothing compared to what they have…
