Should you Vote?
I got a “D” which means I shouldn’t vote but it is too late, I’ve already submitted my absentee ballot.
$70 Check from Date.com
As I was going through the mail yesterday I ran across a check from Date.com. I was confused as to why they would be sending me a check but then I remembered I had started building, AlaskaLove.com, a website promoting their affiliate program a few years ago. Since I never finished the website, and hadn’t promoted it, I figured it would be for around $10. Imagine my surprise when I discovered it was for $70.
I logged into the report manager to see how I made the $70 and discovered I had two signups at $35 a piece. With 166 clicks to the Date.com website since the 1st of the year, 23 people created profiles, and 2 people actually paid to join the site. This is in addition to the $34.20 from Google Adsense. That is a total of $104.20 this year from a website that I never even tried to finish, pretty good if you ask me.
Looks like I should go back and work on the Alaska Love site…
R&R Leave
Well I made it back to Madison yesterday around noon. I’m home for 15 days of R&R Leave from Afghanistan and then I go back to finish up my deployment. The trip was fairly pleasant minus the incident with TSA in Atlanta, and Delta in Atlanta tagging my checked bag with the wrong baggage tag. I’ll write more about those two things in the next few days if I remember.
Everyone keeps asking me if I have any exciting plans for the time back, but I really don’t. I am going to go up to camp for a weekend, spend some time in the Dells, and might visit a friend in Minnesota. Basically I just want to relax, enjoy a few things I can’t get in Afghanistan, and hit up State Street on Halloween.
Language
If the Army requires me to learn a language due to my new MOS, I wonder if it will be Korean or Arabic???
