Maybe They’ll Send me a Google Hat!
I just submitted a bug report to Google. I’m trying to launch a new site, Scouting News, and I was at Google News so I went to fill out their form to get it crawled. I know Scouting News isn’t finished or really even started but there is some content there! I’m working on the design and such… Anyway when you browse away from Google News they don’t strip the subdomain which makes it so their relative links don’t work, you get 404s.
If you wish to recreate it:
Start at Google News.
Click on “Advanced News Search”
Click on “All About Google”
Click on “Submitting your Site”
Until they fix it you’ll get a “Not Found,” all because of a pesky subdomain. Maybe they’ll send me a Google Hat for helping them out!
Midwest Tradefest
I was able to stop by the Midwest Trafest today for a brief period of time. It was great catching up with some of the Scouting people I haven’t seen in a while. I wish I would have been able to spend a little more time socialing (read: looking for the few holes in my Four Lakes CSP collection) it would have been great!
For those of you who don’t know the Midwest Tradefest is a regional Boy Scout Trade-O-Ree sponsored by Tichora Lodge #146. It looked like Kurt and the gang put together a good show. It seemed like the crowd was light like the last couple of years but there was more action, people were making deals and finding needs, which is always good to see.
