Just finished my taxes
I just wanted to say that this is a lot better then last year. Even with my little setback I was still able to file my taxes with more then 10 hours left! I’m even getting a little bit of money back… time to go shopping. I think its about time I got an ipod.
Congratulations to Wolfe and Lehn!
To be honest I don’t know Brian Wolfe, but Travis is one of my friend’s roommates and he seems like a good guy, but anyway they won the Whitewater Student Government elections. I did a little campaigning for them, I wore a sticker all day on Tuesday.
I’m actually surprised they won, as they were up against a guy, Johnny Lechner, who drummed up quite a bit of publicity on the regional and national levels by his non-traditional student status; he’s been in college for 11 years. Hopefully he has learned something from the business classes he’s taken and uses the free press to further his music career. From his website it sounds like that he may have hit the goldmine. So he shouldn’t be too upset about his Whitewater Student Government defeat.
I never really got involved with student government as I never saw the point. Although after this election for Whitewater Student Government President and Vice-President I’m regretting that decision. I didn’t realize that they actually have some pull with the administration and the networking opportunities and learning experiences are awesome. Oh well.
Tax Time and Procrastination
I like to procrastinate. I do it with all of my projects but I’ve learned to work with this deficiency. For example with Taxes being due tomorrow, April 15th, I set aside this afternoon to finish my taxes so I would get them submitted on time. One problem, I can’t find my folder that holds all of my W-2s and other important documents. Normally this wouldn’t be such a big problem as I would just tear apart my room finding them eventually. Unfortunately I now have random stuff at my apartment, my mom’s condo, and my grandma’s house.
Well I’m off to dig through piles of paperwork! Hopefully you have your taxes done…
When does $59 equal free?
I’m in the process of looking into software programs that manage internet cafes. Its kind of interesting because of the huge variety of features, I ran across one that blew my mind away - just not in a good way! Here is the text that I couldn’t believe:
Free Cyber Cafe Software : Cafezee Cyber Cafe Software is priced at US $59.00, closest to being free.
It’s free but its not? What’s that all about? When I ran across that line I decided this program wasn’t for me, I didn’t even look at the features even though its free, well “closest to being free.”
