PETA didn’t find a welcome mat

I often get annoyed at protesters. Usually they think their opinion is the only one that matters and everyone should care about it. Maybe I find it comical because I usually never care about their issues…

There is one organization that always annoys me and that is PETA. That is why I laughed when I ran across this story about how a KFC manager turned the store’s sprinkler system on to soak the protesters.

A Soldier Comes Home

I’m not sure if this has been widely published or not but there is a great piece from Greg Moore, a staff sergeant in the N.Y. National Guard’s 2nd Battalion, 108th Infantry, about his homecoming.

I was going to quote part of the piece but I can’t find any section that will give it justice so I encourage you to read the whole thing: A Soldier Comes Home

I guess this was pretty close to being correct. I was surprised there was no regular Midwestern but I guess the Upper Midwestern takes care of it…

Some days are just more productive than others

I don’t know why but some days just tend to be more productive than others. I can’t really find any good reason for today to be a good day to get things done, but it has been. I’ve done my taxes, completed a project for one of my online classes, paid some bills, done laundry, and responded to a bunch of emails.

It’s not like I got a lot of sleep last night, since I had to work for four hours in Janesville. I didn’t start my day off with a good breakfast. I don’t really have anything to be cheerful about. I think it just happened that today would be productive, and to be honest, it was a refreshing surprise. Hopefully I can keep it up!
