Make your own peeps???

So I got caught buying a package of peeps, you know those brightly colored sugar covered marshmallow treats, that appear magically during the Easter season. I swear I was just going to eat one, I don’t think my stomach could handle more then that, but of course the acquaintance from school didn’t believe me.

Well some good came out of the conversation because I was informed that you can make peeps at home with a kit, of course I didn’t believe her but she just sent me the link to the website. I’m tempted to buy one, but I think it would only keep me entertained for an hour or two.

Has it really been 5 year???

That was the subject line to an email I just recieved from Becky… Yes it is indeed time for my first high school reunion. I’m actually very excited about it… I want to see what everyone is up to and catch up with a few people who have fallen by the wayside over the years. I figured I’d be one of those guys afraid to go because I’m not successful but I could care less. I’m almost done with my degree, I joined the national guard, I lost a bunch of weight. The only two things that I wish I had that I don’t: 1) More Hair - I’m tired of the bald spots. 2) A wonderful girlfriend - it seems like everyone has a long term one or is getting or has got married.

Anyway if you graduated from Sun Prairie Senior High School in 2000 and haven’t heard about saving the date of August 20th for our reunion, shoot me an email and I’ll forward you the “official email”

Defensive Driving! Woot!

I just got done with a defensive driving course that my rent a cop job required me to go through. Now I’m not the best driver but I feel I am pretty safe so I didn’t think I was going to get much out of it, but I actually learned the following:

  • You’re aren’t supposed to drive if you are tired. Our instructor even went on to say that if we woke up exhausted we should call in and let them know we wouldn’t be able to work. (The supervisor loved that idea)
  • I was disapointed to find out according to the personal survey that I am an aggressive driver, I always thought of my driving as being assertive - which atleast in my social work classes is a good thing.
  • One interesting fact that I seriously didn’t know was officers can not make you perform a field sobriety test that they themselves can’t pass. I guess I won’t be saying the alphabet backwards anytime soon!
  • I really shouldn’t complain since I got paid to sit there and I may be able to get lower insurance premiums since I took the class but it just seemed to much like common sense for me. Although it was fun driving home, I realized that I could be the perfect example of not what to do… oh well.
